Privacy! It’s all yours in an elegant, unique retreat located a stone’s throw from the burgeoning hub of Nosara, Costa Rica. Ahkí Retreat is a private home/retreat rental, nestled among 5.75 mountain acres and boasting an excellent, long-standing reputation with yearly returning renters.
Imbued with panoramic views of lush, green mountain sides, blue ocean waters and plentiful sunshine, and with its accessible location, Ahkí is the perfect destination for homeowners looking for privacy or a space to offer retreats. As remote as Ahkí feels, overlooking Playa Garza and Playa Guiones, we are only minutes away from beaches, kayaking, horseback riding, world-famous Nosara surfing, zip-lining, nature hikes, shopping, restaurants and more.
What is so unique about Ahkí is that it truly is a sacred space — built specifically according to the ancient science of Vastu Shastra (“the yoga of space”), invoking peace, wellness and harmony. A true Vastu-built dwelling helps to maximize the flow of positive, healing energy throughout. Ahki is the only Vastu retreat located in Costa Rica — a great asset — as more people are now becoming more conscious of living healthier lives and the benefits of getting closer to nature.
Ahki consists of a 7,000-square-foot main house area that includes a fully stocked professional kitchen, dining for 20, a library/lounge, half bath, a treetop yoga studio with stellar panoramic views of the mountains and sea, a beautiful swimming/reflecting pool sporting two ranchos with hanging day-beds, a private guest room with A/C and full bath that can be used as live-in staff quarters or for visiting group leaders, a laundry room, an office and private owner’s quarters. There is also a two-car garage with a workshop.
A few steps down the hillside are six valley-view guest rooms, each accommodating three people, with private baths, indoor/outdoor showers, large windows and doors with plenty of ventilation. There are two lovely ranchos that are used for massage therapy and healing treatments.
With a flair for Asian design, all structures are concrete block and dark wood, with a beautiful finish of Venetian plaster, including the floors — super easy maintenance. The entire space has been outfitted and custom-built locally by Costa Rican craftsmen, including doors, windows, lighting, furniture, bookcase, lounge chairs and more. The pool is surrounded by an expansive, limestone patio. This space has been painstakingly designed by the owner herself, who lives on-site, with the pure intention of creating a unique, warm and welcoming “home-away-from-home” feel.
The unique design at this amazing location affords a multi-purpose use as a private home, retreat rental for groups or private vacation rental for investment purposes.
