San José, Costa Rica — This October 11, Quatro Legal celebrates its first ten years in business: a journey marked by passion, commitment, and transformation in the Costa Rican and international legal landscape. From its inception, the firm has sought not only to provide legal services, but to do so in a human, empathetic, and people-centered way.

Origins: Converging Visions

The story of Quatro Legal began with a shared vision between its founders, Marcela Acosta and Gonzalo Rojas. After nearly two decades of experience in legal advisory services in Costa Rica, they set out to change the paradigm. Tired of the traditional legal status quo, they believed it was possible to bring empathy and excellence back to the legal profession. Thus, the vision of a law firm was born—one where clients are not just “case files,” but human beings with challenges and dreams.

Strategic Growth: Specialization and Diversification

From the beginning, Quatro Legal built its foundation on defined areas of legal practice, allowing the firm to specialize and deliver ever-increasing quality in key fields:

  • Real Estate
  • Immigration and Relocation
  • Labor and Employment Law
  • Free Trade Zones and Regulatory Compliance
  • Corporate and Business Law
  • Intellectual Property
  • Dispute Resolution, Mediation, Litigation, and Arbitration
  • Estate Planning, Trusts, and Custodianship

Over the years, each of these service areas has grown stronger, responding to the evolving needs of both Costa Rican and international markets. Thanks to this focused approach, Quatro Legal has served over 2,000 clients who trust its personalized and strategic legal counsel.

Physical Expansion and Human Talent

What began as a startup with a single location in San José has expanded to include offices in Guachipelín (Escazú), Guanacaste (Huacas, Santa Cruz), and Manuel Antonio, Quepos, Jacó, Garabito, Playa Bonita, Limón, and Atenas, Alajuela. This regional presence allows the firm to engage directly with clients across different parts of the country.

Through a careful and selective recruitment process—and always prioritizing quality over quantity—the team has grown from 4 people in 2015 to 45 collaborators today.

Institutional Impact and Reputation

Over the past decade, Quatro Legal has built a solid reputation for its client-centered approach. Its core values—empathy, reliability, and integrity—are consistently highlighted in testimonials from clients who praise the firm’s ability to anticipate risks and mitigate conflict.

Its strong digital presence, corporate networks, and strategic alliances with renowned national companies have also strengthened its positioning as a modern firm, capable of adapting to legal, technological, and market changes.

Lessons Learned and Service Philosophy

Throughout these ten years, Quatro Legal has upheld a consistent principle: promise less and deliver more. This formula has allowed the firm not only to earn trust but to build long-term relationships with both corporate and individual clients.

The team has also learned that behind every case lies a human dimension: whether resolving a labor dispute, handling a migration process, structuring a real estate deal, or settling a conflict, success requires not only technical rigor but also sensitivity to the people involved.

Looking Ahead

As Quatro Legal enters its second decade, it does so with ambition: to continue expanding its geographic footprint, incorporate emerging legal practices (such as tech regulation, ESG, and fintech), strengthen international partnerships, and remain a benchmark for legal quality and empathy in service.

A Message of Gratitude

As we commemorate this milestone, we extend our heartfelt thanks to the clients, partners, collaborators, and friends who have been part of our journey. Your trust and support have shaped what Quatro Legal is today and inspire what it will become tomorrow.

Here’s to the next chapter—one guided by purpose, innovation, and human connection.
