Café del Pueblo Tuna Tartare

Café del Pueblo has the honor of sharing this recipe with everyone. This famous preparation goes back many centuries in the old continent.

The ancient people of Europe and Central Asia prepared it as a way to eat fresh tuna, quickly and simply, based basically on cutting the tuna into small pieces and marinating them with spices. However, we have decided to take another step within the gastronomy and merge the ingredients of several cultures to achieve, without a doubt, the perfect tuna tartare. Buy some local fresh tuna and surprise your friends and guests with this delicious recipe.

Ingredients (recommended serving for one person):

Fresh tuna 150 grams
10 grams of onion
1 clove garlic
1/2 lime (the juice)
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon olive oil
pinch of pepper
pinch of salt
1 half avocado

Soy and lemon dressing (yields 140 milliliters):

1 lime (the juice)
2 ounces soy sauce
2 ounces olive oil
1 spoonful of Dijon mustard
10 grams of onion
1 clove garlic

Preparation:

1- First (and most importantly) we must obtain FRESH tuna, based on its bright red color, fresh texture and not sticky in the hands, besides being almost odorless. Once we have ensured this, we can move to step two.
2 – Cut the tuna into small cubes (approximately half a centimeter) as equally as possible.
3- In a bowl incorporate the previously cut tuna with the soy sauce, olive oil, and lime juice. In addition, mince or prepare the onion and garlic in a food processor.
4- Next, mix all the ingredients in a bowl and add salt/pepper according to your taste.
5 – Now we are ready to make the dressing, which enhances the flavor and is very versatile since you can use it to marinate salads and meats. In a blender, add all of the ingredients from the list above and process.
