The Howler was the first English publication in the area.

David Mills the creator and owner of the publication was a pioneer in Costa Rica. John Quam acquired the magazine after a brief hiatus and put new life into the Iconic Costa Rica magazine.

The new team has large plans for the magazine to serve the local communities as well as for foreigners interested in Costa Rica; weather they are visiting, moving or investing in Costa Rica, The Howler intends to be a valuable resource for navigating the Tico ways.
