Ehrlichiosis is a serious tick-borne disease caused by the Ehrlichia bacterium, primarily affecting dogs but also seen in cats. This illness can lead to severe health complications if not detected and treated early. Here’s a concise guide to help you protect your pet.

✅What is Ehrlichiosis?

Ehrlichiosis is transmitted through the bite of infected ticks, most commonly the Brown Dog Tick (Rhipicephalus sanguineus). Once infected, the bacteria attack white blood cells, weakening the immune system.

Symptoms vary depending on the stage of infection:

Early Stage (Acute): Fever, lethargy, swollen lymph nodes, and loss of appetite.
